Garden at a windmill in Rascafría, Madrid
In a beautiful mountain area, in the Madrid mountain range, this garden was adapted to the landscape and to the naturally acid soil by planting a few carefully chosen species: birches, that blend well with the typical trees in the area and contrast with the dark green foliage of the organic yew hedge, which is natural to that region, and a plantation of perennials that mixes China pinks, heathers, lilies and Stachys bizantina ‘Silver Carpet’ (lamb’s ears) with felty silver-grey leaves.
